The Cookbook
The Cookbook was my degree project, and it makes cooking nutrient-rich meals easy and exciting for college students. After a class discussion on how we ate on a day when everyone was especially hangry, I was concerned about how little and unhealthy we ate as a class because of the rigorous demands of college.
The Cookbook consists of easy-to-make recipes packed with nutritious foods. It aims to help students form better relationships with cooking in their busy lives so that they can fuel their brains to thrive in academia.
The Process
For my primary research, I decided that collages and a survey were the best two options. Using an anonymous Miro Board, I will send out the link for students to build a collage of their current diets on one board and the other on their ideal diet. This will allow me to visualize where students are nutritionally lacking, their favorite ingredients, and how we can make their perfect diet a reality! For the survey, I udef Google Forms to better understand college students’ eating habits. I posted the survey on social media and the University of Arkansas Design Program’s Slack. I additionally developed the recipes in The Cookbook and was able to share them with friends along the way!
